Upscale Discounts

I know a lot of people who still feel that when I use the word “frugal” I mean cheap.  Let me again give my definition of the word: getting good value for your money, at any level!

With that said, here’s an article from the Las Vegas Business Press about a new source for discounts in Chicago and Las Vegas, the 3 oclock club.  The owner of this Web site caters, in his words, to “high-end demographics,” offering deep discounts to upscale restaurants, spas, and other establishments,  such as go-kart race tracks in Vegas.

I haven’t personally taken advantage of any of these discounts yet since we have enough casino comps to cover all the upscale meals our arteries can handle.  However, I will bookmark this site and check for non-casino activities when my teenage grandchildren visit.  And it might be a good discount source for many of you who are not at a high casino comp level and want a bargain splurge at an upscale restaurant or spa during your Vegas visit.

I would appreciate reports from others who use this discount resource.  Your evaluations, positive and negative,  in the Comments would give other blog readers helpful information.

Jean: thanks for the tip. I signed up with 3 O’clock and ordered a pair of race passes at 50% off at Pole Position karting. Five days later I received them in the mail. And, I can use the MRB coupon for more races. Every day I get an email with their daily specials. I’ve seen some repeats but hopefully more businesses will sign on.
