AUGUST VEGAS PROMOTIONS

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has launched RideTheStrip.com, a website geared specifically to tourists visiting or planning to travel to Las Vegas. The easy-to-use site provides a one-stop online resource for accessing information on the RTC’s transit routes along the popular Las Vegas Strip and transit services to and from McCarran International Airport and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

CASINO ROYALE

PALMS
Play for Prizes” is back to two periods this month, both running as usual Monday through Friday. The first is from August 4-15, with gift cards for CVS. The second is August 18-29, with gift cards for Albertsons. Redemption times are the same as usual, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Fridays 10 a.m.-midnight.

Gift days in August are the 2nd, 16th, 17th, and the 30th. To earn the gift-of-the-day, you need 100 base points on video slots or 500 base points on video poker between 12:01 a.m. and 6:59 p.m. Only ½ those points (50/250) are needed for the Swipe & Win promotion which runs from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursdays. Gifts are given out rather than gift cards this month.

Regular weekly drawings continue on Fridays at 7 p.m. The mailer again mentions that the everyone-wins feature is active for August- $10 in free play if you activated your entries – even if your name is not called. No bonus entry times were listed in the mailer, nor was the weekly tournament.

There is a daily Happy Hour from 6-8 p.m. at Back Room Burgers.  Buy-one-get-one drafts, well drinks, and house wine.  50% off “Bites and Fries.”

TUSCANY

The rotating 20% all-month senior discount moves to all bars and lounges in August. Senior days continue on Thursdays, with discounted food offers and other promotions.

Drawings at 7 p.m. each Saturday.

ELLIS ISLAND

Tuesdays and Thursdays continue with senior drawings and free swipes.

Free bingo for all in the Copper tier and above Monday through Friday at 9 a.m., with Bingo Bonanza on Mondays having extra games.  Out-of-state guests and new members can participate by earning 20 base points prior to the start of the games.

Earn entries all month for the August 27th drawing with 3x entries on Sundays and 10x entries on Wednesdays.

“Frydays” every Friday at the coffee shop.  Earn 5,000 base points and you can order the Captain’s Platter for $5.99 instead of the regular price of $12.99.

SILVERTON

Silverton Promotions  – Check out food specials (BOGO buffets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and gambling promotions, including Senior Mondays.

HOOTERS

See recent blog – Here  – for details about a cruise promotion they are running.

STATIONS

Station Casinos has formed a partnership with Princess Cruises in which Boarding Pass card holders can earn free or discounted cruises and other cruise benefits, depending on their tier level. As is usual with all cruise offers, you need to check the details carefully to see what is covered and what will cost you out of pocket.

EL CORTEZ

Throughout August, Club Cortez players winning a jackpot of $200 or more on a slot machine, a $200 or more jackpot on a video poker five-cent or lower denomination machine, a $300 or more jackpot on a video poker ten-cent or high denomination machine or a $200 or more jackpot on live keno will receive their choice of a free gift card from El Cortez, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Shell, Chevron, Smith’s or Zappos.com. Please see Club Cortez for additional information.

BOYD PROPERTIES (Sam’s Town, The Orleans, Suncoast, and Gold Coast)

Gold Coast – Last month there were stickers on the machines in the High Limit room stating they were not eligible for bonus multipliers, but they have now been removed.

Be sure to check at each casino to see if there is a limit on multipliers.  My recent Gold Coast mailer had this fine print at the bottom of the notice for their Sunday multipliers (10x/5x) in August:  Base points exceeding 10,000 per day on Video Poker and 100,000 on Reels are not available for promotional point multipliers.  Different Boyd properties may have different limits or no limits at all, and it may vary depending on the particular promotion.  It pays to take a look at the written rules every time.

There are never any limits on the tier multipliers given to Sapphires (2x) and Emeralds (3x).  But remember that on days/times there are promotional multipliers these take the place of those tier multipliers.  You can’t add them together!

Suncoast – Earn 300 points in one day M-F for a free breakfast or lunch buffet, or earn an additional 600 points for a free dinner or brunch buffet, or a $10 food credit for Café Siena or Coasta Cantina, or $10 slot dollars.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday earn 3000 points in one day for a free dinner at SC Prime Steakhouse, or $50 in slot dollars.  Again, check at the slot club desk for the rules and limitations of these promotions.

  1. Martin says:

per vpFree : Suncoast downgrades as of 8-8-14
(No more NSUD fullpay). Plenty of 98.91% games

I was surprised even to see BP $ACE$ removed or downgraded as well at the Suncoast.

May not be as strong a promo with <99.4% games, except for the more volatile TDB (Triple Dbl-Bonus).

  2. Kevin Lewis says:

The weekend Suncoast promo is very strong, as it amounts to a 1.66% free play rebate on $3000 action. They have NSUD in .25 and TDB in .25, .50, and $1; the former would have a theoretical loss of a little more than $7.50 and the latter in the neighborhood of $12 for $3000 action. I didn’t even check out the steakhouse dinner option; you earn the points and you just have to go to the kiosk to get the $50 FP. You can only do this once per weekend. The weekday promo isn’t quite as strong, but it’s still $10 FP for $900 of action.
In each case, you keep your points, so an Emerald player would be earning 0.3% as well (redeemable at a 10:6 ratio for food, making this a well over 2% rebate).
