Holiday Greetings

Yesterday was a typical Las Vegas holiday celebration for us, combining family celebration and casino promotions! First we drove north across town to where my sister Starr and David live, feasting, opening gifts, and sharing a lot of joy and laughter with their family. Then we drove back to our Westside home area, first stopping at the Palms where we were picking up a Christmas mystery free play offer. The e-mail we got that informed us of this offer stated it might be as much as $500, but – no surprise – we both got the $20 minimum stated amount.  However, we also were picking up our regular weekly free play amount so this was the kind of double-dip promotion I love!

Then we went across the street to the Gold Coast, where it was 7x points, and put 10,000 points on each of our cards. Again a double-dipper opportunity, because we also had regular free play to pick up. Actually it was a triple-dipper for me since I could also collect my December birthday free play bonus.

Actually this family celebration and casino promotion combo will continue tomorrow. The comped rooms and food and entertainment are all arranged for my Georgia family who will be flying into town tomorrow, daughter Angela and her retired Army Ranger husband Steve heading the pack. Then there will be the grandkids, Kaitlynn and Zachary. Remember how I used to write about how we would take them around Vegas in their strollers. Well, time marches on.  Kaitlynn is now in her 4th year of college, graduating in May with a major in Communications and planning to work on her master’s degree. And Zachary, just graduated from college, has given me a bonus granddaughter, his lovely wife Taylor. And now the best part is we will be back with a little one in a stroller, their 16-month old son, Asher.

I don’t have time to write any more. I am busy today baby-proofing our condo.

Hope you had a great Bday and I can tell that all that baby proofing is such a tiring but rewarding job. How did we every manage to keep the kids safe (back in the day) without those things. LOL!!!

Love you, my sweet big sister. I’m working on a present for you for your upcoming birthday (or a date close to it). Wonder just what that would be . . .
