MGM Resorts has launched a new program – mobile casino tournaments.   Mark’s Las Vegas has the details. I wonder if these will be popular?  Most people like to do tournaments because of the fun enthusiastic group atmosphere.  This new “invention” is kind of like having sex by yourself instead of with another person.  Maybe it will appeal to some?

I have a couple of tactics I use to keep my gambling “small.” First, I think of the money I’m betting in terms of goods and services it could purchase, which is something that slot credits and casino chips are designed NOT to suggest. It isn’t $500–it’s just a stack of green chips, or 500 credits! When I realize that in three hours of dollar VP play, I’m running through enough cash to buy a car, it gives me the proper perspective. Second, I mentally record a video of dealers drawing a 5 to a hard sixteen and swooping all the chips from the layout, casino stickmen hollering “seven out, line away” and my bets being scooped up, and all those horror moments of drawing to AKQJ of hearts and getting the 3 of clubs. We tend to remember all the good stuff. But if you want to keep your gambling under control, you’ll “accentuate the negative.”
