NOVEMBER VEGAS PROMOTIONS

Watch for free casino buffet offers for veterans on November 11th, Veterans Day. Most are for the veteran only; a few include a free meal for a companion too. Some casinos have given details on this promotion in the regular monthly mailer or on their website; others may wait and put this in a newspaper ad closer to the date. Google “Veterans Day promotions” and you will see many sites that list extensive freebies, both in and out of casinos,  with qualifying details.

BOYD PROPERTIES (The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, and Sam’s Town, and sometimes their downtown properties.)

The Orleans and Gold Coast are continuing their “B Loyal to the Royal” promo, Sunday-Thursday the whole month of November.  See details about this and other promotions at the Gold Coast here.   Check the websites of the other casinos and click on “promotions” to see what is going on in each one, which can be property-wide and/or property-specific ones.

SOUTH POINT

“Bounty Bonus Bucks” is a popular promotion running at South Point the whole month of November.  You can score half-price groceries if you redeem your points for gift cards redeemable at any of the Kroger Co. family of stores, including Smith’s in Las Vegas.  If you can shop in those stores, then this promotion is the equivalent of 2x points, up to the maximum of 10 gift cards for the month.  See all the details.

They are also offering 5x/2x multipliers on Thanksgiving Day.

The slot tournaments for seniors have moved to a new day – Mondays.  Details here.

This was a message on the November mailer: Check your e-mail for more free play in November. If we don’t have your e-mail address, visit us at our website  [where you can join or update your account information] . Enter your account number and e-mail address to receive your special offer!  This is why we have given our e-mail address to many casinos as well as giving them our snail mail address – you never know when you might receive extra valuable offers.

Go to their homepage  and click on the various tabs to find room and food offers; many special bingo discounts and events; entertainment offers; and discounts at their movie theater, including special pricing for seniors – $4 every day for most movies starting before 4 p.m.

TUSCANY SUITES & CASINO

For November the monthly senior 20% discount moves to the Gift Shop.

They are running a scratch card promo on Saturdays this month.  Hopefully this is as valuable as it used to be; the pull-tab promo last month was not!  I welcome input in the “Comments” about this from people who have personal experience, past and present.

CZR PROPERTIES

Play for a Buffet is a Tuesday promotion for Las Vegas CZR casinos that is continuing in November. Earn 50 tier credits in a day at any of our Total Rewards casinos in Las Vegas and get one free entry to the Rio Carnival World & Seafood Buffet. (This voucher does not include the Seafood section – that requires paying a $25 upcharge!)  Much fine print on this offer –  so check the rules at players club at any CZR Vegas property.

HARD ROCK

Just got an e-mail about a promo running on Mondays and Tuesdays until Nov. 15 – earning a “collectible HR hoodie.”  I don’t have the complete details and I couldn’t find them on their website.  But if this interests you, perhaps you would want to make a trip to check it out?

DOWNTOWN GRAND

They seem to be experimenting a lot to find the best way to attract customers.  They are changing up their VP inventory and promotions frequently.  You need to check vpFREE2  and their website – to keep up.

PALMS

I can’t say much here at the moment because the change to a Stations brand is not going as smoothly as they hoped – although I give them an A+ for trying hard to keep the customers happy.   Mistakes have been made in several crucial areas and it is taking time to correct them.  For example, when they gave some players new cards during the matching-tier period, they didn’t check to see if they were already Station cardholders and gave them a new account #.  Now they have to go back and merge the two accounts with the corrected “old” number.  Meantime we couldn’t collect mailer offers with the old or the new cards.  Manual merging took me 45 minutes at the players club after already standing in line for 15 minutes to reach the desk.

I will try to give new information here when things settle down a bit.  In the meantime, patience will be needed!

  1. No Veterans Day free play offers that I know of.

Curious if there is any known free slot play offers at any casinos in Las Vegas for veterans on Veterans Day today? A lot of food options so not interested in more of those. Much appreciated

  3. Don the Dentist says:

Played the scratch card promo at Tuscany yesterday. I got:
    2 – 3,000 points
    1 – $5 Free play
    1 – gift (poor selection)

South Point used to have the $50-for-$25 gas card promo at least once a year. Now, it appears to be a thing of the past, but the Smith’s cards are almost as good. I say “almost” because if you were a visitor, you could earn your gas cards and take them home with you. With Smith’s cards–not so much. If you live in an area without the Smith’s chain, you may be out of luck. You might be OK if the Kroger chain, which owns Fry’s among others, will let you use the cards at other branded locations. There aren’t any Kroger stores in New England or the northern Plains states.

This is part of an odd pattern I’ve perceived for South Point, which is that it likes locals but HATES out-of-towners. I have given them a LOT of action over the last decade or so and I only receive a mailer every once in a great while–with a feeble offer. I was told by a host that quite frankly, they didn’t really cultivate the out-of-towner gambler market because the many special events they hosted (with their immense convention and arena spaces) filled up their hotel rooms anyway. That, and the fact that 9/10 of visitors don’t even know they exist, means that you might want to visit, but they will regard you as about as valuable as a used Keno ticket with a drink spilled on it.
