MORE DETAILS ABOUT PROMOTIONS

In this blog entry I will give some additional information I have gleaned while talking to other players and reading in the online gambling forums. I can’t stress too often how important it is to utilize these kinds of resources.

However, I need to warn players that one must continually verify information they hear and read. I have rarely found that writers or players will deliberately give false information, but humans do sometimes draw mistaken conclusions. A player may assume certain facts that they personally experienced, not realizing that they may not apply to others in different circumstances. An example of this would be a local player who would tell an out-of-town friend about a good promotion, not knowing that it was open only to locals. Another common example is when a multiple-point promo is only for people who get the monthly mailer with that listed on the calendar, not for the general public.

Another problem comes up with out-of-date information. I am sympathetic with anyone who tries to be helpful by putting out “lists” of anything happening in casinos. Talk about moving targets. I often say that the only constant in casinos is change! Recently the “Sunday” freebie magazine, that I have recommended as a good resource, listed old information about the Stations senior day multiplier, saying it was “up to” 6x/10x points. The “up to” had been removed quite a while ago and is now a fixed 6x for VP and 10x for slots. You might have noticed this updated info if you had gone to the Stations website (as I suggest you do frequently for any casino where you plan to play) or you would have found out if you read the vpFREE forum where someone posted the correct information.

Speaking of the Stations senior multiplier on Wednesdays, here is another example of the value of checking casino websites each month and not assuming the promotions will stay the same. This month the Station website stated there would be no senior multiplier on the 22nd. It didn’t give any reason why not, but we are assuming it has to do with a new casino-wide kiosk game that has a special benefit on the 22nd and they don’t want the seniors to be able to double-dip.   🙁     Another reason for checking their website monthly is that they frequently change the outlets on the list where you get a senior discount on Wednesdays.

I would again urge readers of this blog to go back frequently to read the comments. Often there you will find updated information and additional details on promotions and other casino benefits. I appreciate any input that will help us all become more knowledgeable as we try to play smarter.

Do not bite. $29 and no resort fee is not worth 2 hours of your time. I have an unusual
deal with Westgate. Back in the day my timeshare from the developer was bandied around to other timeshare companies Orlando. Long story short now WestGate has the Hilton and purchased my interest from Ramada and then Summerbay. So my current deal at the hilton is $29 per nite mid week and no resort fee. AND I do not have to go to time share pitch. They also have a club room with free food and happy hour wine and beer and other discounts. Some times
mistakes become profitable and lucky:) And, no obligation to gamble. Rooms in the North Tower are really nice. BUT you must be an actual developer purchaser, not a resale. I just g0t lucky when all the time share companies shuffled ownership.

Thanks again for all the valuable info that you give us. It is so interesting to also read the other comments that come in and your comment about the different circumstances for each gambler, is so true!! Wouldn’t it be great for everyone to realize that.

    Jean,
I frequently get mailers from the Orleans and Palace Station.
However, I received a timeshare sales offer for a two nite stay at the Westgate for $29.
Do U know anyone that has been there, taking up the offer?
