“Daily deal” Web site programs are popping up right and left all over the country, and certainly Las Vegas is a prime location for these.  However, because of the increasingly large numbers of these different programs, especially in large cities, a person could be overwhelmed keeping track.  But a new service has appeared to help you out, the  “aggregator,” a site that keeps track of all the individual programs in your area and sends you only the type of offers in which you have expressed an interest, i.e, restaurants, spas, events, etc. Read more… »

Another Senior Moment

Now I am sure I am losing brain cells!

A couple of days ago we got in the mail a coupon booklet from the Hard Rock, not addressed to us personally but to “Our friends at….”   I was shocked when I saw the introductory material in the booklet:

South Point Casino

In my last entry, I said that the South Point casino had changed its mailer system for locals.  I want to emphasize that I did not say that no one should play there anymore because of this.  I merely wanted to give you the facts about this change. Read more… »

South Point has drastically (and without advance notice) changed their mailer policy.   It is now based on a three-month period instead of the old one-month one.  (Example:  October mailers were based on your play during June, July, and August.) Also, gone are all the old tier levels that had a set # of points to get a specific bounce-back amount.  Mailers are now based on  theoretical (theo), meaning how much average profit the casino figures they will make on the specific machine you play.  So if you have been playing the best VP paytables, your mailer has probably dropped to almost nothing, or even been  discontinued completely.  If you play the slots, perhaps your mailer is better!
