Brad’s Gambling Life – Part 1,The Beginning

Brad turned 79 last week and some of our friends were asking him how long he had been gambling.   That reminded me – again – of all the interesting stories he has told me about his past life before we met, many of them connected in some way with gambling.  So I have decided to share them here, off and on, under the title of “Brad’s Gambling Life.”  Today is Part 1.

A Hit to Our Pockets Coming

I believe that I have mentioned before on this blog that one of our favorite ways to pick up some extra money and/or comps is by participating in casino check-cashing promotions.  Although many local casinos have these, our favorite for many years has been the one at the Palms.  We have each regularly cashed 3 or 4 checks a month and scored a variety of benefits:  free play from $10-$50;  food comps from free buffets to $25 for various restaurants ; $50 spa or salon credit; and occasionally instant cash, from $100 to a couple recent surprises of $1,000 and the top prize of $10,000!

Back From GA and NO

Yes, we’re back home after 12 days of so much out-of-town fun it may take us months to recover!  Trying to keep up with two teenage grandchildren and their friends – I can’t decide if that keeps us young or ages us faster!

There is never a boring day at the Frugal Princess family home:
