I’m just getting caught up with all the paperwork and business matters that piled up during our recent 10-day trip out of town.  And to complicate things, I am having technical problems posting to this blog and downloading pictures.  Hopefully, it will soon be fixed and I can get back to my regular discussions. 

 However, in the meantime I do have another way to stay in touch with all of you.   I now have a Facebook account (Jean Scott) dedicated to the “professional” part of my life (as opposed to my personal one).  Because of my time constraints, I will not be able to engage in back-and-forth communication here or answer questions.  However, I will post and add pictures as often as I have time.

When Brad reached Kamaki Base Headquarters, prepared to get his orders to Korea, he was met by the First Sergeant.  “Scott, you sure are one lucky dog, getting to go down to Itami Air Base.

When Brad and his AF buddies marched off the ship in Yokohama, they soon found out that the ship was immediately going further down the Japanese coastline to deliver Navy personnel assigned to other ships and then on to Korea to drop off hundreds of combat-ready Army soldiers.  The Air Force guys were being transferred to various AF bases in Japan for their new assignments.

Brad was sent to the Kamaki base, a small AF installation out in the country near the city of Nagoya.  Well, he wasn’t in Korea but he was in what was called the Korean Theater, only 90 miles from the 38th Parallel. Read more… »

Once in California, at an Army post on the outskirts of LA, Brad and his buddy were playing the waiting game, not knowing when the trip to free beer in Korea, for which they had volunteered, would continue.  But they were up for any adventure in the meantime.  Read more… »

I appreciate all the comments on my last blog entry.  Thanks to all of you who “get it” and help explain things to those who don’t “get it.”  But don’t get discouraged if you can’t convince the doubters.  This old saying comes to mind:  “None are so blind than those who refuse to see.”
