It looks like my last blog entry, about casino noise, really struck a chord (pardon the pun) in many readers. Someone asked whether I ever received any input from casinos, acknowledging that they are taking notice of my blog and/or the comments. I don’t know about this – no casino executive has ever contacted me about anything written here. However, I do know that some casinos have people monitoring Internet chatter about casinos in general and their property in particular. So I am hoping my blog and your comments are getting to casino executive ears!
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. People often ask Brad and me how we celebrate holidays as a local in Las Vegas. Well…. tomorrow’s holiday will be a typical combo day. Part of the day will be spent with family and friends – my sister is cooking up a turkey dinner and we will enjoy the home-cooked meal, a nice change from casino restaurants. And part of the day will be spent chasing multiple-point bonuses. But most of all we will be giving thanks for the blessings in our life: So many friends, our love for each other, a loving extended family.
We wish such blessings for all of you on this coming Thanksgiving Day.
I always carry earplugs with me, especially when I go to a movie theater (very rarely) or to any event at my grandkids school. I use the soft memory foam plugs. They help a lot, but last time we were in LV we went to a lounge show at the Palms. I could have enjoyed the show at one tenth the volume, but the bass was to loud I couldn’t take it even with the ear plugs. I wouldn’t be without the plugs anytime in Las Vegas.
