I would like to recommend a 2-part article by Frank Kneeland, recounting his interview with Dr. William G. McCown on the subject of “Problem Gambling Prevention.” Dr. McCown is considered one of the foremost researchers into pathological gambling in the country.
What was interesting to me was that there are new scientific studies with results that go beyond what I have read about in the past. In fact, they are proving that some of the beliefs that had formerly been held are not really valid.
