For a long time Boyd Casinos and Rebel Gas partnered to give customers with a slot club card a discount on gas. But alas, that discount is no more, as of the end of April.
Lesson here: Be aware that no promotion lasts forever. And even long-term ones can be discontinued, as this one did, with no “official” notice.
To no one’s surprise, the Palms removed the 50-cent full-pay Deuces Wild game from those new “Full-Pay” machines recently installed. However, the quarter FP Deuces are still there, and the 10/7 DB and 10/6 DDB continue to be offered at both the quarter and 50-cent level.

The information given here is very good, but I would add one other way you can handle partnerships, one they didn’t mention. When we partnered with friends for a big Caesars tournament and won the half-million first prize, Brad got the W-2G for the full amount since he was the primary entrant and Caesars would have no part in “deals.” However, since we were filing as a business, it was easy enough to give our friends a 1099 for $250,000, deducting that amount as an expense, and thus we had only $250,000 to count as income.
