From LVA NewsThe Gamblers Book Club has merged with the Gamblers General Store and will operate at a single location at 808 S. Main Street. Though the store will be at the long-time location of the Gamblers General Store, it appears that the official name will be the Gamblers Book Club.

Remember this date, May  3.  After that date ALL  calls made in Clark County, which includes Las Vegas and Laughlin,  must include the area code followed by the phone number even if it is a local call.  A new area code will be added – on June 3 new telephone lines and services will begin receiving the 725 area code –  but existing 702 area code numbers will not be changed.   However, residents will still be required to include the 702 area code with the number they are dialing  or the call will not go through.   All emergency calls will remain the same, 9-1-1 or 4-1-1.

If you live in Clark County it is probably  a good idea to start getting in the habit now of always dialing the area code, even for local calls.  And I’m going to start editing the phone book in my smartphone!

If you want to see people beating each other up on a Saturday night, go to any bar on E. Sahara, on E. Charleston, or in North Las Vegas. And it’s free to watch! (one beer minimum)

I’m glad to see that the captcha has gone back to numbers. The %^%#$%$ fuzzy letters were ridiculously hard to read, and if you got them wrong you lost your entire post! Another example of wet-behind-the-ears nerdlets being paid sixty grand a year to write crap software that doesn’t work!

The Gambler’s Book Club always had a large inventory, but there’s even more stuff available since the merger. There’s a lot of obscure stuff that has at least curiosity value, including some book about how once upon a time, you could play positive expectation video poker and get comps and free stuff without being thrown out of the casino (from way back when, obviously…).

I’ve watched Boxing for a long, long, time!
But UFC is Cold Blooded Cruelty! This is what
started the Sucker Punching of people on the streets!
You won’t find me paying to see that Crap!
