ADDITIONS TO MARCH VEGAS PROMOTIONS

TUSCANY

They are running a “Hot Seat Giveaway” promotion Saturdays in March for machine players and an “Electronics Giveaway” for those playing table games.  Regular gift days are the 12th and 26th.  Earn 300 points on Sundays and you are eligible for a gift in the “inventory gift giveaway.”

Senior News:  The slot club now has Senior stickers to add to the players club cards of those 50 and older so they can more conveniently get the 20% discount available 24/7 for purchases everywhere on the property.  Thursdays are Senior Days with food and gambling specials for table and machine players.  For the latter, earning 500 points will give you one pull tab, and 1000 will give you the max of two per day.  The last time we did this, my tw0 pulls yielded $10 and Brad’s, $20.   Get complete rules and details at the Players Club.   (Remember, here the points you earn playing through free play do not count for promotion earning requirements.)

NOTE:  The 20% discount for dining is for dine-in only, not for take-out.  Also not for magazines at the gift shop.  Those are the only exemptions I know about.

BOYD PROPERTIES

I have now had some additional input from both kinds of players, locals and non-locals,  including some who have “switched sides” in the past – and the original assumptions I wrote about in my last blog entry  (https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/frugal-vegas/?p=3420)  seem to be correct:  The B-Connected slot club  uses a “rolling system” for both groups of players.  The difference is the time element.  Points drop off every 6 months for locals; the drop-off for non-locals happens every 12 months.

You can check your own status by going to https://www.bconnectedonline.com/.  It’s easy to register your slot card # and establish an account there.  Then you can find your “Card Score History,” which will go back 12 months if you are considered a non-local, 6 months if you are tagged as a local.  Some of you may not know how you are labeled because you may play at both Boyd “destination” casinos (the three downtown) and “local” ones (The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, and Sam’s Town).

Your “label” is probably based on the address you have given, not where you play most, but I’m not sure of that. This “label” can be an important consideration since non-locals do not get the weekly free play and other local-only offers.  Some players have a choice because they have both an out-of-town residence AND one in Vegas (or at least they have a Vegas mailbox that can be checked frequently).  If you are in that situation, you may need to experiment for a few months to see which address gives you the best offers and promotions for your particular situation.

PALMS

Entrance to the Palms pool, opening March 17,   is complimentary 7 days a week.  It is open to all ages IF you are a registered guest with valid room key, covering families with underage children.  (Whether you want to expose your kids to that sometimes-raunchy atmosphere is a much different issue!)  If you are a non-hotel guest, you must be at least 21 to gain entrance.
