CAESARS NEWS

Miscellaneous information I have picked up recently, either in a personal visit to a CZR property or from the Internet:

Want to know just where you can earn or redeem Total Reward points? Check here: https://www.totalrewards.com/content/cet-tr/en/earn-and-redeem/on-location.html.

Want to know the differences between tier credits and reward credits. Check the various tabs at https://www.totalrewards.com/content/cet-tr/en/earn-and-redeem/with-total-rewards.html.

Are you confused about the new “winter tier credit bonus,” given on all tier credits earned between January 1 and March 31, 2015. The chart at http://www.sevenstarsinsider.com/1st-quarter-bonus-tier-creditswill make it completely clear for you.  Thank you, Darryl!

Plus more good information from Darryl:

Want to earn even more bonus tier credits?  Be sure that Caesars/Total Rewards has your current valid email address on file and that you’ve opted them in on their correspondence.[I just check  our profiles – I was opted in but I had to change Brad’s, who was opted out – I don’t know how that happened!  We want to get every offer they want to send us!]  Then in a few weeks look for an email from Total Rewards, read it and accept your bonus tier credits.

Like many banks, retailers and other companies, Caesars and Total Rewards will soon be going to an all-email system when it comes to communicating with customers. With the ever-increasing expense of developing, printing and mailing offers, as well as disseminating other news, this is the only logical way to stay in touch with players.

Caesars Entertainment Diamond status is a part of FoundersCard membership.

There is a new expression I just came across both at New Orleans Harrah’s and Rincon. An employee said they were a “Total Rewards property” when I asked for a discretionary comp. Translated that meant that even if you had almost 2 million coin-in during the year, you could not score even two simple buffets. Use your points! Okay, I can do that – but it did make me a little nostalgic for the “good ol’ days”!

Now for notes about individual properties:

Southern California Casino and Resort (Rincon)

You can no longer get your picture on your Seven Star players card here. I think Harrah’s Cherokee may be the last property where you can get that – if their machine hasn’t broken down and been removed recently.

Be careful using your comps at Starbucks here. You can use comps to buy coffee and food that can immediately be “consumed” but not “retail.”  That means no bulk coffee or things like gift items. You also can not shop in the gift store using comps.

Harrah’s Las Vegas

You can swipe your card to use your Reward Credits to pay in their new food court.

The buffet is closed during lunchtime Monday-Thursday. And the special entrance for Seven Stars and Diamonds seems to be closed at all times – at least when we’ve been there for dinner during the week.

Harrah’s New Orleans

Now for some good news during this time of decreasing casino benefits. The New Orleans city council has passed a ban on indoor smoking and use of electronic cigarettes in bars and casinos. Unless the mayor vetoes it, the law will take effect in 90 days.  http://www.theneworleansadvocate.com/news/11401789-123/no-smoking-allowed-city-council

Harrah’s has a separate line for Diamond and Seven Stars at the main entrance to the buffet, so there is still no wait. This is the same as the Forrest Buffet at Lake Tahoe. Still preferred seating.

Regarding points, we simply charge everything to the room and then let our executive casino host use our points and then comp everything else. Although we are low Diamond, we still get our food comped as long as we are not extravagant. We always eat one meal in Ruth’s Chris, but otherwise we “buffet”, eat the Oyster Bar, or in the singer’s bbq joint. Further, we play enough next door at Casino Royale to get a meal comped in the Outback upstairs. Doesn’t take much play there to accumulate enough points for two full meals. I wouldn’t forget that Diamond and higher always get two show tickets free every month – usually about 12 choices on this. Yes, it was nice in the “old days” to simply play some and ask for a comp, but we go with the flow.
